"As an artist and an educator, I am conscious of the process of arrival. We arrive in the studio, or in front of our computer screens to write, before a blank canvas or behind the lens of a camera, and there is a state of readiness that settles over us, if we allow it time to manifest and don't rush into action too quickly.
At the end of one thing I always feel very much as though I am embarking on a new process. The next chapter is unfolding before me and I have one foot on each side of the divide. And perhaps that is the essence of the creative process. Do we ever truly "arrive" anywhere? Or do we simply transition, seamlessly between two sides of something existing always in the spaces and time between the constructs that compartmentalize our experiences?"
